After what seemed like an age of editing, re-editing, alteration and proofreading... changing the changes back to what the original and hours of stress over the placement of a comma, Missing Pieces finally launched on February 12th. My concerns about the cover were unfounded, the book looks great. The issue with production of the hardback version aside (will have to wait until April), at east the paperback was out and the eBook available.
Pre-release reviews were very positive and I was suddenly struck by an intense sense of vulnerability. Yes, the book is a fictional story, but it mirrors people and events and places which have been profoundly impactful on my own life... and to hear other people becoming invested in the characters and events is daunting and incredible. One reviewer even contacted me to ask about book two and whether certain characters may be making a reappearance.
ADDITION
Whether due to an issue with predicted sales, distribution, manufacturing or supply... the initial print run made available to Amazon has sold out. I am in a state of panic while the people around me congratulate me on the books acceptance by readers.
